but how willing are employers to __________ those aged 50 or over? The employment agency MSL acknowledges that some firms are reluctant to do so.
“Many companies are looking for flexibility and a __________ to embrace change,
which makes them look towards younger people who may have worked successfully for several employers __________ eight or ten years,” says MSL´s Nick Marsh.
“Such staff will have shown themselves able to adapt to different business cultures. Managers in their forties or fifties may not fit this __________,
perhaps having been with the same company for most of their working lives. Loyalty and commitment are no longer measured solely in __________ of length of service with a single employer.”
This attitude contrasts with a change of mind by management experts. They now recommend __________ on to experienced people, if only as a way of avoiding making old mistakes again.
Several have acknowledged that the “delayering” of a few years back may have __________ permanent harm to organisations by removing the older people, who could have passed on their accumulated techniques.
MSL says the challenge for the older manager in search of a new job is to match his or her experience as __________ as possible to stated requirements and to accentuate the positive,
such as their __________ of knowledge, maturity in decision-making and calmness under pressure.
