Let’s look at the difference between I have thirst and the correct expression I’m thirsty.
Czech learners sometimes want to say that they are thirsty and use the sentence I have thirst. In English, however, this does not work. When we talk about feelings such as being thirsty, hungry, tired, warm, or cold, we usually do not use the verb have. Instead, we use to be.
W: After that walk, I have so much thirst.
R: After that walk, I am really thirsty.
